@ITGUYTK, thank you for your post and for the very helpful feedback from the other IT Pros. I sent your post to our consultant who provided this feedback: 'HP Z420 Workstation is a high end computer with Intel Xeon E5 processor (4, 6 or 8 cores), Intel C602 chipset and nVidia NVS, Quadro or Tesla graphic card. Windows XP could somehow run on it. But WXP is not capable nor designed to support this hardware. Thus WXP can utilize just a tiny fraction of the hardware capabilities of the HP Z420 Workstation.
There is nothing wrong with the computer's hardware at all. To install WXP you need to set SATA mode in BIOS to AHCI or RAID or as a worst option ATA/IDE. But WXP doesn't support Intel C602 chipset of the HP Z420. It is a must to insert drivers for this chipset especially the disk controller driver into the WXP at the beginning of the WXP installation via F6 key. However WXP supports only floppy disk for this. Another option is to slipstream the disk controller driver into the WXP installation media.
You have not done neither of these two and that is why you are getting 'a drive not found error'. It is without a doubt much more beneficial, faster and straightforward to install WXP as a virtual machine. HP Z420 Workstation is so much powerful that running virtual WXP represents almost negligent load.'
